ABOUT THE RESIDENCY

​

In a shared commitment to fostering international exchanges for research and production in the visual arts, NY20+ and R.A.R.O. Barcelona are proud to announce the 2026 residency scholarship. This program will offer 3 artists the opportunity to engage in an exchange that promotes artistic and cultural dialogue between China and Catalonia. 

​

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

​

We invite visual artists of all nationalities, ages, and disciplines who are residents of Catalonia to apply. Whether you work in painting, sculpture, installation, video, or any other medium, we welcome artists who are eager to explore and expand their practice through international collaboration and cross-cultural exchange.

​

WHAT WE OFFER

​

> One-month residency during the months of June or July 2026.

> Daily meals, accommodation and studio at NY20+ in Chengdu, China.

> Access to dynamic network of professionals, institutions, and events in Chengdu, China.

> Opportunities to collaborate with artists from various disciplines and engage in meaningful cross- cultural exchanges.

> Potential for public exhibitions and cultural exchanges as part of the residency program.

WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED

​

> Flight tickets and other travel expenses.

> Daily living expenses outside of the provided meals and accommodation

> Any additional financial support for personal projects not related to the residency.

> Visa arregments are responsibility of the artist. 

> An invitation letter to China can be issued if required.

HOW TO APPLY

​

Submit the following materials to: becasrarobarcelona@gmail.com

Subject: Full name + “China Exchange Application”

  1. Portfolio: A selection of up to 10 images showcasing your most recent work.

  1. Project Proposal: A short description (max.500 words) outlining the project you intend to develop during the residency.

 

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS

All applications must be submitted by March 1st.
